Emergency personnel responded to 5 Sugar Hollow Road late Tuesday morning after a vendor reported finding six envelopes with unknown powder inside. The substance in the envelopes does not appear to have been anything serious. Not much information was available, but Det. Lt. Mark Williams said it “must have been something silly” considering how quickly the matter was cleared. Police and firefighters were dispatched to The Shops at Marcus Dairy shopping center around 11:40 a.m. A responder said there were no evacuations taking place when he arrived on scene. The incident was deemed a “police matter” at 11:43 a.m. The fire department’s hazmat truck arrived on scene two minutes later and the matter was resolved by 12:05 p.m.
