VIDEO: Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire in a three-family house on Miller Street in Meriden and rescued a puppy. The fire was reported around 5 a.m. Wednesday and crews found fire on all three floors and immediately called for a second alarm to bring in help from Berlin, Southington and Wallingford. Officials said there is heavy damage to the second and third floors of the building and the first-floor sustained water and smoke damage. The intense fire also melted the siding of a residence next door. All residents were able to make it out of the building, but it is unclear if anyone was injured. The American Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents. Mutual aid from surrounding towns was called to help.
