PHOTOS: Authorities are still piecing together what caused the fire that killed three adults and a dog over the weekend. The fire, which started before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, completely gutted the home at 63 O’Neill Road in the Quaker Farms section of town. “It’s a terrible fire,” First Selectman George Temple said, adding it is the first fatal one officials can remember in the town since the 1980s. “Our fire department did a great job for what they had to work with,” he said. “But when you’re fighting a fire and you know there are dead bodies in there, t’s really tough on them.” The victims were older adults, said Temple, who added they have been identified, but declined to give their names.
