First responders in the city helped deliver a healthy baby girl Tuesday morning, fire officials said. The Milford Fire Department’s dispatch center got the call around 5:50 a.m. for what officials said was “a not so routine” 911 call: a pregnant woman who was actively in labor. Firefighters and paramedics quickly responded and found that delivery of the baby was necessary. Crews from Quint 3 and Medic 2 helped deliver a healthy baby girl in a home in the Devon neighborhood in Milford, according to Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi. The baby and its mother were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital by Milford fire paramedic personnel. “It was reported that both are doing well,” Fabrizi said.
