Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze in a commercial building Monday evening.
Police answered a burglary alarm shortly after 5 p.m. at 50 Shelter Rock Lane. First responders saw heavy black smoke billowing from the building, the home of C and S Auto Truck and Repair, and called in the Fire Department.
Firefighters struck a second alarm, bringing in additional resources, "due to the size and occupancy of the building," according to the report. Crews gained access to the building and quickly brought the blaze under control using multiple hand-lines. Smoke and carbon monoxide were throughout the entire building, according to the report, requiring additional time to ventilate the entire structure.
A crew from Eversource secured the power and gas feeds to the building.
There was no one in the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. All units cleared the scene around 7:30 p.m.
