Southbury Volunteer Firemen’s Association Notes Junes Calls

The Southbury Volunteer Firemen’s Association responded to 64 calls in June. According to Chief Brian Warren, SVFA responded to two building fires, two passenger vehicle fires, two grass/forest fires and one outside rubbish fire. Seven calls were for hazardous conditions with no fire, including three for an oil or other combustible liquid spill, one for heat from short circuit (wiring), two for vehicle accident general clean-up and one for a power line down. Service calls amounted to three water or steam leaks, one assist police or other governmental agency and three for unauthorized burning. There were 13 good intent calls, including five dispatched and canceled en route, seven with no incident found on arrival at dispatch and one hazmat release investigation with no hazmat.
