A fire gutted a city home Thursday night, displacing four people in the process, according to fire officials.
Deputy Chief David Tripp said a fire was reported at 2 Pulaski St. around 10 p.m.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring out of the first-floor windows of the two-and-a-half story home, according to Tripp.
Tripp said the fire was contained to the first floor of the home, but there was “moderate smoke damage” throughout the building.
No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist four residents displaced by the fire. The Torrington Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
