Police and firefighters are investigating the report of an explosion early Monday morning in Bridgeport. Officials were dispatched to the area near Barnum School towards Seaview Avenue at 3:21 a.m. for a possible explosion in an old train car. Police say two teens were involved in the incident. According to police, one of the teens stated he was playing in a train car by Seaview Avenue with his friend and there was an explosion. One person ran to call 911 from a third friend’s home. In the second train car, they located the injured teen. Police say the teenager was possibly standing on top of the train car and came into contact with a hot catenary/transmission line and got electrocuted. He was burned from head to toe, but was breathing and slightly responsive. The 16-year-old has been transported to Bridgeport Hospital with severe burns and in critical condition.
