Two people escaped an SUV before it went up in flames in Plymouth on Wednesday. Firefighters were called to Preston Road, in the area of Poland Brook Road, around 12:25 p.m. on the report of a car fire. Upon arrival, they noted that the fire was fully involved. Firefighters got the blaze under control within a few minutes of arriving. The vehicle, a Chevrolet Equinox, was still smoking after the fire was all but extinguished. Fire Chief Mark Sekorski around 12:50 p.m. said the fire was out. Firefighters said two people were in the SUV, driving down the road, when they noticed that the vehicle had an issue. The driver pulled over and the occupants, a man and a woman, got out of the vehicle before it went up in flames. They were not hurt.
