PHOTOS: Fire officials are investigating the cause of a raging fire that destroyed a home in the Candlewood Lake Club community Sunday afternoon. Firefighters from New Milford and Brookfield responded to a report of a structure fire on Brookside Trail around 3:05 p.m. “The caller said his house was on fire. He grabbed his kids and he dropped the phone and got out of the house,” a dispatcher said. When firefighters got to the scene, they found a ranch-style home heavily involved in flames. The house was purchased two months ago, according to land records. Firefighters worked together to bring the fire under control in under 30 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
