VIDEO: It took less than an hour for firefighters to get a house blaze on Haig Avenue under control late Sunday afternoon, according to officials. Just after 5 p.m., the city’s 911 dispatch center received a call about a fire in an upstairs bedroom in the 300 block of Haig Avenue. Crews from the Springdale Fire Department were first on scene and reported flames at the two-story private residence, according to Fire Capt. Philip Hayes. Units got the fire under control by about 5:50 p.m., Hayes said. There were no injuries to any residents or firefighters. Hayes said the residents were displaced by fire, smoke and water damage to the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
