Fifty or so happy campers gathered on Friday, July 29, after the traditional and happy hosing from a Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department fire truck turret gun at the close of the Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department’s five-week summer day camp on Saturday July 29. Firefighter Nick Abouzeid manned the turret gun on Engine 4 under the supervision of Fire Lt. Chris Start and Deputy Chief Corey Shaker. Helping out were Fire Lt. Steve Cunningham with his wife, Maria Lounsbury, Fire Lt. Matt Gereg and longtime Firefighter Earl Gillette. The truck hosed the children with 1,000 gallons of water while they ran and danced under the cooling spray in the 85-degree sunshine.
