A firefighter was treated for burns to his face and residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire on South Colony Street Monday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 234 S. Colony St. around 2 p.m. They found heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor, Fire Chief Ken Morgan said.
A second alarm was called due to the intensity of the fire, the dense neighborhood and weather conditions, Morgan said. All Fire Department resources responded to contain the fire.
Mutual aid responded from Wallingford, Southington and North Haven to help cover incidents that were occurring at the same time, Morgan said. The residents of the home were treated for smoke inhalation. One firefighter suffered burns to his face, Morgan said.
