The Stamford Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a group of people who police say set off fireworks and started a car fire on Stamford's East Side on June 5. On that date around 7 p.m., police said the group of people went in a local grocery store and took fireworks and other miscellaneous items. "They then lit the fireworks off in a parking lot near the store. One of the parties involved threw a firework in a parked car window starting a fire in it," police said in a news release. Anyone with more information is asked to call the Stamford Police Property Crime Unit at a 203-977-4407.
