The East Haven Rotary Club honored two first responders at its 81st annual installation dinner.
Police posted to Facebook that police officer Anthony Fiorillo was awarded the Joseph Buonome Memorial Public Safety Award. Police noted that Fiorillo was "recognized for his exemplary service, calm demeanor, strong character and his ability to be a mentor to younger officers in his capacity as a Field Training Officer."
And, East Haven Fire Department Capt. Gordon Stewart was also recognized as firefighter of the year, according to East Haven Fire Chief Matt Marcarelli.
