Fire crews responded at an early morning fire morning in Willington. Around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Willington firefighters said they were called to house fire at 88 River Rd. The fire was upgraded to 2 alarms. Assistant Fire Chief Stuart Cobb of the Willington Fire Department said firefighters were able to contain most of the damage to the home’s kitchen. A cause has not yet been determined. No injuries were reported. Drivers were told to avoid the area while crews were on the scene.
