One person was displaced from their home after a fire Wednesday afternoon in Hamden, according to officials. Crews responded to the report of a structure fire in the 100 block of Shepard Street. A neighbor called 911 after noticing smoke coming from the eaves of the home, according to Hamden Fire Marshal Brian Dolan. The first-arriving crews reported heavy smoke coming from the roof of the home, according to Dolan. “Companies stretched two hose lines to the interior of the house while other crews began rooftop ventilation operations,” Dolan wrote in a news release. “The fire ran along interior walls and into the attic space. The main body of the fire was extinguished in approximately 30 minutes. Crews remained on scene performing overhaul and checking for any hot spots.”
