Teen gets trapped under car in Willimantic

A 19-year-old male was transported to Windham Community Memorial Hospital Tuesday evening after getting trapped under a car he was working on. The Willimantic Fire Department responded at 6:26 p.m. The incident happened at 85 Emerald Ave. According to Willimantic Fire Chief Marc Scrivener’s report, the man was transported to Windham Hospital with a foot/ankle injury. In addition to Willimantic firefighters, Windham Hospital medics also responded to the scene. Scrivener said upon arrival, firefighters found the male sitting with his legs trapped under a Honda Civic. He said the man was working on a fender when the accident happened. Scrivener said the car fell from the jacks and pinned the man’s right foot under the car, causing the patient “intense” pain.
