Businesses and residents face a Red Flag Warning today as high winds and low humidity sharply raise the danger of grass and forest fires in the entire state of Delaware. The warning, issued by the National Weather Service Office in Mount Holly, NJ, runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. tonight. Also affected are the Poconos, Lehigh Valley, Berks County, and southeastern Pennsylvania. Also, northwestern, central, and southern New Jersey. Wind could gust up to 40 miles an hour, with relative humidity dropping into the 20 percent to 30 percent range. High temperatures in Delaware will be in the 60s. The New Jersey Pine Barrens saw a fire last week that burned thousands of acres. Delaware also has large forests and dry, grassy areas that can be vulnerable to dry, windy conditions.
