Pencader crash injures 11 in Newark; knocks out power

A crash in the Pencader Corporate Center injured eleven people and led to a power outage in the Glasgow area. Firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder fire company of Newark responded to Corporate Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. They found a pick up truck collided with a paratransit bus operated by Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore. One of the vehicles then careened into a ground level power box starting a fire.Delmarva Power crews had to shut off power in order for the flames to be extinguished and that led to a nearly hour long power outage that affected area businesses as well as traffic signals along Route 40.
