Rescuers dispatched to a deadly house fire in Long Neck Wednesday were dealt conflicting information as they arrived on the scene and the struggle to save lives unfolded. Three children, all under the age of 5, died in the house fire near Millsboro on Wednesday afternoon, Delaware State Police said. A fourth child, also under the age of 5, was taken to a local hospital and was expected to live, according to police. Firefighters thought everyone was out of the Pot-Nets house as they fought back the flames that engulfed the rear of the structure, sending smoke throughout. That's according to messages relayed on fire department radio communications with the county dispatch. They had been told at first that there were people trapped as they responded to the call to Scarp Street: Specifically, two children were inside the front of the home. But good news was soon delivered.
