A family of four was sent to the hospital Sunday morning after a camper fire in a small subdivision north of Ellendale, the State Fire Marshal's Office said.
The family was sleeping in a camper trailer in the 10000 block of Greentop Road when it caught on fire, according to a press release.
Firefighters arrived just before 8 a.m. to put the blaze out, and the family was taken to the Bayhealth Sussex Campus Emergency Room.
Both a 29-year-old man and a 31-year-old were suffering from smoke inhalation, the State Fire Marshal's Office said. The woman also had second-degree burns. They were later transferred in stable condition to Chester Medical Center for further treatment.
There were also two children — a 1-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl — who were treated and released to relatives, according to the Fire Marshal's Office.
