Two women suffered minor injuries early Monday morning in a house fire in Claymont Heights.
The women, ages 97 and 53, were alerted by smoke alarms of the fire which was reported at about 1:30 a.m. in the 300-block of Harvey Road, according to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office. Arriving firefighters found smoke coming from the structure.
The two women were taken to Wilmington Hospital and were reported to be in good condition. They suffered smoke inhalation.
Investigators said the fire was caused by a faulty power cord to a lamp that set fire to some bedding. Fire damage to the home was estimated at $15,000.
