One cat was rescued, two people were injured and three displaced from a house fire in a neighborhood off Salem Church Road in Bear.
Multiple fire companies' engines started to fill the narrow streets of Boyer Drive after they got the call around 6 p.m., according to live call logs. Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 20 minutes.
Afterward, firefighters were seen rescuing a cat while New Castle Paramedics checked for injuries.
A 60-year-old woman was taken to Christiana Hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation and burns. She was listed in critical condition, the Delaware State Fire Marshal said in a release.
Fire marshals also said a seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital for burns and listed in good condition.
Fire marshals said the fire caused $150,000 in damage. The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
