The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s fire in Wilmington, Delaware that heavily damaged a home, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.
Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly before 4:00 am, occurred in the 400 block of Derby Way in the Brandywine Hunt neighborhood. The Talleyville Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames shooting from a house.
State deputy fire marshals were called to the scene to conduct the investigation. They are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. The fire also caused exposure damage to nearby homes. Chionchio said damage has been estimated at $400,000.
Five adults and one child fled from the home unharmed and no reported injuries.
