The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a Tuesday morning mobile home fire in Bowers Beach that left one person dead. The fire was reported just after midnight the morning of February 18 on the unit block of GRM Drive and Bowers Beach Road. The Bowers Fire Company arrived on the scene to a home already engulfed in flames. One person was found dead in the home by firefighters. Another person in the home was taken to Bayhealth Hospital Sussex Campus with smoke inhalation. That person was listed in good condition as of Tuesday morning. The Delaware Division of Forensic Science removed the victim from the home. An autopsy is expected later Tuesday. The fire heavily damaged the home with damage estimated at $50,000. The fire remains under investigation.
