VIDEO: The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating an early Monday fire that damaged a single family home as well as two other adjacent homes in Slaughter Beach.
The fire, reported shortly after 5 a.m., occurred in the 300 block of Bay Avenue.
The Memorial Volunteer Fire Company of Slaughter Beach arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.
Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene.
State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the fire’s origin and cause.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire damage is estimated at $450,000.
There were no reported injuries.
The structure of fire origin was not occupied at the time of the fire, however, the adjacent damaged structures were occupied and their occupants escaped unharmed.
