New Castle County residents may see and smell smoke from to a wildfire in Southern New Jersey.
The 2,107-acre wildfire at the Winslow Wildlife Management Area in Winslow Township, on the border of Camden and Gloucester counties, began Tuesday afternoon. The fire eventually crossed the Egg Harbor River, fueled by high winds and relatively low humidity, New Jersey Forest Fire Service said in a Facebook post.
There is no threat to local structures due to the fire's remote location, and it is now 95 percent contained, according to New Jersey Forest Fire Service's Facebook post.
Winds are blowing the smoke towards Delaware and should last into tomorrow, National Weather Service in Mount Holly said.
Delaware Emergency Management Agency said in a tweet air quality should improve overnight but individuals with respiratory illnesses should be cautious.
