One man was killed and another was hurt in a house fire Wednesday morning near Sanford.
The fire calls came in around 4 a.m.
One man was hurt and rushed to the hospital, but Todd Fillinger, 56, could not escape the flames.
He was found dead inside after the fire was out.
His family says he was a kind man who loved the outdoors and his family.
“Just a guy who loved everybody, who said exactly what was on his mind, and fishing was his thing like I said, he caught some of the biggest fish out of the river I've ever seen," Anita Evans said.
The state fire marshal's investigation is not complete, but so far they believe it was an accident.
With the cool weather overnight, Fillinger's family suggests he was using a space heater.
The man hurt was taken to the hospital for treatment.
