The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office and Pace Fire Rescue District received $51,294 worth of equipment from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
According to a press release from the foundation, SRSO received 20 automated external defibrillators to be placed in patrol cars. The foundation will also provide training so the deputies can learn how to operate the new equipment. PFRD received six sets of bunker gear including coats, pants, boots and gloves to replace outdated and damaged gear.
Firehouse spokeswoman Nancy Palmer said the foundation wanted to thank the donors who help provide the tools given.
“Our first responders are our heroes and we want to be sure they have the tools and technology they need to protect their communities,” she said.
