Lake County Fire Rescue will add a new fire truck to the fleet next month as it replaces a well used 2005 vehicle at the Yalaha fire station.
The truck will roll into the garage Dec. 10 as county commissioners, Lake County Public Safety staff and others will gather at Fire Station 76, on County Road 48 in Yalaha, for a push back ceremony.
Squad 8, Lake’s lead Hazardous Materials unit, will make use of the vehicle. Station 76 is one of three special operations response team stations in the county.
“In its first year of service, Squad 8 will respond to more than 700 standard fire and EMS calls, in addition to a range of special operations services, including vehicle extractions, hazardous materials incidents and technical rescues,” Lake County Fire Chief Jim Dickerson said.
