Four teens were arrested Tuesday in connection to a fire that destroyed a defunct train station and injured a Delray Beach firefighter.
The teens, all juveniles and students at Atlantic High School, face arson charges, Delray Beach Fire Rescue spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.
A Delray Beach firefighter was injured when the force of the fire threw him to the ground as he entered the building. The firefighter suffered burns to his neck and ears. He was treated at a hospital and released Tuesday afternoon, Moschella said. City and county firefighters responded shortly after 10:15 a.m. to reports of a structure fire at the vacant station, off Atlantic Avenue on the west side of Interstate 95.
The fire crews began defensive operations and an aerial attack using ladder trucks. About 30 Delray Beach and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene.
