VIDEO: Multiple crews responded to a home fire in Bonita Springs. The fire, located at 10920 Citrus Dr., started in the laundry room, according to the homeowner. The homeowner, his wife, four kids, and the dog were able to evacuate the home safely. Firefighters received the first call about the fire at 9:42 p.m. on Thursday. Bonita Springs Fire Department Deputy Chief Eric Madden said there was a lot of gas on the property that contributed to the fire. "We had some gas cans on the outside of the structure that were exploding when [we] were arriving on the scene," Madden said. Crews worked to put the fire out Thursday night, which completely engulfed the home. While the home is a total loss, Madden said he's glad that's the only thing that was destroyed. "We were unable to save the structure, but everybody's safe, so everybody's good," he said.
