Cape Coral Fire Department put out a fire that destroyed a home along the 1100 block of NW 21st Street in north Cape Coral Thursday. According to CCFD, no people were home or injured in the fire, but a small dog died after being found inside by first responders. CPR and oxygen were performed to try and save the dog, but it died at the scene. The scene is south of Kismet Parkway W and north of Diplomat Parkway W. Lee County Electric Cooperative responded to the scene and turned the power off at the home as part of standard protocol. CCFD confirms the house is no longer livable. The fire department is unaware if American Red Cross will respond to the scene, and it’s unknown how many people live at the home currently. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
