The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency has authorized federal funds to reimburse costs to Florida for the fire in Collier County.
FEMA grant funding will be available to reimburse 75 percent of the eligible firefighting costs.
“We moved quickly to provide this emergency assistance to reimburse the costs incurred to fight these fires that currently threaten people, homes and businesses,” said FEMA Regional Administrator Gracia Szczech.
Eligible costs include labor, equipment and supplies as well as costs for emergency work such as evacuations and sheltering, traffic control and police barricading, according to FEMA.
