Escambia, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties are under a Red Flag Warning Tuesday and Wednesday.
Baldwin County, Alabama, is also under the same advisory.
While Northwest Florida is outside of Hurricane Ian's cone of uncertainty, Escambia County says "the storm will produce potential fire hazards due to high wind speeds, relatively low humidity and dry fuels."
The Red Flag Warning is in place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The Florida Forest Service has placed Escambia, Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties at a moderate risk for a wildfire. "It has been more than two weeks since most of the three-county area (Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties) has seen rainfall and wildfire danger is on the rise," the Florida Forest Service says in a release.
