VIDEO: Crews spent hours battling a massive fire at a public storage facility in Miami Gardens Tuesday morning.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the facility near Northwest 167th Street and Northwest 34 Block shortly after 5:30 a.m.
Fire crews arrived to find a light haze and fire coming from the back of the facility, officials said.
"Firefighters arrived to find smoke and other indications of fire coming from one of the units, began the fire attack which proved to be difficult based on the layout and the particular section of the storage facility, as well as the amount of stuff contained within these storage units," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Danny Cardeso said.
Crews immediately began attacking the fire, which had spread to multiple storage units. Chopper footage of the scene showed at least a dozen units affected by the fire.
