Better fire safety for home and business owners is about to roll out in Columbia County.
Fire crews unveiled their new state of the art aerial truck, Monday.
It's a valuable piece of equipment for Columbia County Fire Rescue.
The new aerial truck has been in the works for a year and now it's here to serve.
"Everything on this truck is custom built. It was designed by everybody here at our station. All the administration, all the firefighters all had a little input on how we wanted it set up," said Lt. Curt Bleemel who will be responsible for the new truck.
The 2018 aerial truck is equipped with the most up to date technology, making it a fast set up at a scene.
"We can actually set the truck up, once the outriggers are set, and the truck is level in a minute and nine seconds which, for anything we have to set the truck up for and use the ladder, is mind blowing. It's extremely fast," said Bleemel.
