The new chief of the Albany Fire Department was sworn into office Tuesday afternoon. Cedric Scott is officially the fire department's new chief. A ceremony was held Tuesday at the Albany Civic Center. During his speech, Chief Scott talked about how much the department means to him and all he hopes to accomplish as chief. "Get an opportunity to visit our team in the 911 center and talk about emergency management with our emergency management team. I'm just excited about hitting the ground and getting out and talking to the members of our department and start talking about as we go forward, our plans for the future," said Scott.
