An industrial accident this morning led to the death of a man at the International Paper plant on West Lathrop Avenue in Savannah. It happened about 8:30 a.m. Savannah Firefighters said a boiler platform collapsed and trapped the man underneath the wreckage. We're told the victim had been working in a manlift. Savannah Fire's Technical Rescue Team cleared a passage through the mass of metal boiler pipes and cut through a metal plate to access the victim. But officials say he was dead. International Paper identified the victim as Juan Medina.
