40 people are out of a home after a fire tore through an Augusta apartment complex Monday night. Augusta Fire and EMA says 11 people had to be rescued from the third floor of the Heritage apartment complex, located off Jackson Road. Investigators tell News 12 they smelled an accelerant in the building, so they are treating it as an Arson investigation. We headed to the scene of the fire Tuesday to check out the damage. Although the outside doesn't look too bad, the inside of the building is unlivable.
