A restaurant in the heart of downtown Duluth was severely damaged by a fire, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.
Main Street Mediterranean Cafe is now closed until it has repaired the damage caused by the nighttime fire. The fire did not spread to neighboring buildings, but three businesses adjacent to the cafe suffered smoke damage, according to Capt. Tommy Rutledge, a spokesman for the fire department. The restaurant was closed at the time, and nobody was inside. No injuries were reported for civilians or firefighters. Main Street Mediterranean Cafe said on Facebook that they will remain closed temporarily to repair the damage from the fire. No re-opening date has been announced yet.
