A DeKalb County firefighter was taken to a hospital after being injured while responding to a burning home.
Crews were sent to the home on Liffey Lane near Decatur about 8 p.m., the DeKalb fire department said in a Facebook post. When they arrived, smoke and flames were already visible at the back of the home. Everyone made it out safely, and crews were able to bring the blaze under control quickly, DeKalb fire said. However, at some point during the operation, the firefighter injured his leg. It is not clear if any other injuries were reported.
