A fire destroyed an Augusta funeral home Thursday afternoon. The Augusta Fire Department responded to the scene and eventually contained the blaze at Poteet Funeral Home on Peach Orchard Road. According to the fire department, two vehicles appear to also have been destroyed by flames. The fire caused south traffic on Peach Orchard Road to be diverted.
