An Atlanta firefighter gave his own mask to help a mother escape from the second floor of a burning apartment building Friday morning, Channel 2 Action News reported.
With fire raging on the first floor of the Pavilion Place Apartments on Cleveland Avenue, smoke was rising quickly, fire officials told the news station. The mother, a small child and a baby were trapped inside their apartment when fire crews first arrived on scene about 1:30 a.m. One firefighter climbed a ladder and busted out a window to get to the family.
