The Spalding County Fire Department has taken delivery of three new fire trucks to enhance their operations. The first is a 2019 E-One Fire Engine that will be placed at Roberts Fire Station on South McDonough Rd. It will take the place of a 2007 Fire Engine that will be placed in reserve. This new Fire Truck cost of $333,867.00 was funded by the 2016 SPLOST. Two KME Quick Response Vehicles (QRVS) were also delivered and placed into service. These trucks are compact Fire Engines that are better able to navigate tighter roads and driveways than a full-sized Fire Engine. The first will be placed at the Carver Road Headquarters Station and the second QRV will be placed at Cabin Fire Station on Jackson Rd. Both are equipped with a pump, tank, hose and specialized equipment. These QRV’s were funded by Impact Fees at a cost of $255,550.00 each. Please stop by Headquarters, Roberts Station or Cabin Station to see your new fire trucks.
