It’s been a busy year for Coweta County Fire Rescue. On top of adapting to and changing with the numerous COVID-19 protocols, the department is also pushing forward with new personnel recruitment and equipment. This week, Coweta County Fire Rescue welcomed a dozen new graduates to the department. This group began their training back in March, which posed a new set of challenges in the midst of a global pandemic, according to Deputy Chief Chad Jones. Jones also came aboard in March after spending 25 years with the Atlanta Fire Department. Since his arrival, he’s overseen the ongoing challenges of ensuring the safety of his team while guaranteeing the community receives the same level of attention. This week, the department also hosted a “push-in” ceremony for a new fire engine at Station 4 in Moreland.
