Jones County Fire Station 1 recently took delivery of a new K-12 saw purchased with grant money received from Norfolk Southern Railroad. The saw is the first one for the department and is designed to assist firefighters in gaining access in commercial buildings during fire conditions. Jones County Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Coleman said volunteers at Station 1 were excited about the delivery and are eager to get started on training with the new piece of equipment. “This is just one more tool in our toolbox to better help serve our community in their time of need,” Coleman said.
