They’ve made some minor adjustments, but COVID-19 isn’t stopping the Savannah Fire Department from doing what they do best. Save lives.
COVID-19 has impacted everyone over the past few months. And that includes our first responders, but even with this crisis at hand, they still want residents to know that they’re here for them.
But they are taking some precautions out in the field.
“When we respond to things like a car wreck, we’re asking our crews to be a little bit more cautious about how many people approach the situation, ask them questions about if they have a fever, dry cough, difficulty breathing, have they traveled? So, we just have that type of awareness, so our crews know what they’re going into,” said Savannah Fire Chief Derik Minard.
