A fire in Cherokee County on Sunday left a dog dead and four people with a heavily damaged home.
About 5:30 p.m., firefighters responded to the burning structure off Stockwood Drive in unincorporated Woodstock, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services said.
When first responders arrived, about 40% of the house was on fire. Crews made their way into the house within minutes, controlling the fire and searching for anyone inside. The four adults, who live in the home, were not there when the fire started. Their dog died as a result of the blaze.
